Catch a headline show in some of Cork’s finest venues at Cork Jazz Festival 2019.
The Old Town Whiskey Bar at Bodega is one of the countries most beautiful venues with award winning food and a whiskey selection fit for an emperor! over the Jazz weekend the Old Town Whiskey Bar will play host to some of the finest live acts of the festival.
It all kicks off with an extravaganza on Friday night featuring Grammy nominated guitarist Jimmy Smyth‘s trio inside, with a wild circus street performance outside! Runaway Retro’s are up next from 10:30pm & Jazz Festival favourites Interskalactic follow at midnight with amazing live music late into the night! All weekend long the Old Town Whiskey Bar will host some of the finest bands in town for a Midnight show, if you need live music into the small hours – look no further! all shows are free of charge
Sunday sees the effervescent acid jazz sounds of James Taylor Quartet one of the biggest names on this year’s Cork Jazz Festival line up – one for jazz aficionados and casual listeners and dancers alike!
Award winning food will be available all weekend long, alongside a dedicated Powers Old Fashioned bar to keep you stocked on deliciously jazzy cocktails all weekend – check out the full schedule of free gigs below
Crane Lane Theatre plays host to an all start cast of musicians from all around the world all weekend long, particular highlights include Strange Attractor Friday night, Saturday evening come and see Ireland’s longest running Jazz improv – this time with an all star cast of local and international musicians. Jazz up your Sunday with the Skatuesque with an all female line up of classic Ska sounds! Closing out the festival on Monday night the ever energetic Pontious Pilate & The Naildrivers keep the knees up rolling for the die hards with the stamina to keep going! once again all shows are free of charge – check out the full line up below. If you need to keep your strength up over the weekend Arthur Mayne’s will be serving delicious food all weekend long! Breakfast starts from 10am Saturday & Sunday and food is available all the way to 130am every night

Rising Sons Brewery is home to some of Cork’s finest beers! you can drink the some of the countries best beers 5 meters from where they are brewed! Rising Sons have a packed line up for the weekend with live jazz, live sport and delicious comfort food! check out their full line up below
Fancy a cocktail? step back in time 300 years at the blue door on Pembroke street – Originally built in 1720, Upstairs at Arthur Mayne’s is Cork’s newest late night cocktail bar. Enjoy hand crafted cocktails by candle light in this intimate space hidden away above one of Cork’s favourite late night apothecary/bar Arthur Mayne’s – when you need to give your jazz hands a break soak up the atmosphere! Food is available too until 130am each night from Arthur Mayne’s. Once you’ve recuperated – Crane Lane Theatre is short saunter and you’re right back in the thick of the action!
Not sure what to do next? Tequila may not be the answer but it’s worth a shot! Cork’s only Mezcaleria BDSM Cork is a must for anybody in search of mischief! boasting one of the finest collections of Mezcal & Tequila in the country and rock music all night long with resident selectors BDSM is a not-to-be-missed pitstop on the trail!

Sin é on Coburg street has long been a home of traditional Irish music in Cork , for the Jazz festival this year they’re branching out with a packed line up of great music! A short walk from the centre of the city you never know who you’re going to meet at a session in Sin é!
El Fenix on Union Quay is perfect local pub in the centre of the city! Just a short walk from the South Mall this cosy little spot is ideal if you want to catch something a little bit different away from the masses on the island! It’s proximity to the Cork School of Music means there’s always someone on hand to blast out a tune and the Jazz Festival is no different! All weekend long they have a packed line up of local talent and once again all shows are free of charge
Dance the night away until the small hours
The Vicarstown Bar on North Main Street is where a good night turns into a great night! dance the weekend away with some of the countries finest DJs! Before you put on your dancing shoes why not join us earlier in the day for some lovely live jazz in BDSM with the Roaring 40s and some delicious Mexican food from the Old Town Taqueria? Join us all day Sunday for the final Cook Out party of 2019 – 11 hours of great food, music, dancing and fun!
The Poor Relation on Parnell Place plays host to a magical line up of music for the weekend! If you’re traveling from up the country this must be your first stop when you arrive in the People’s Republic! a 2 minute walk from the bus station and a 10 minute walk from the train station the Poor Relation is the gate way to a great time for you weekend in Cork! Do you like Hip-hop? well we’ve got something pretty special in store for the Saturday evening! at 10pm “The Love Movement – 7 piece band playing the songs of A Tribe Called Quest” this show is set to be the highlight for many people’s weekend so get down early to avoid disappointment!
Need some sanctuary from all the jazz hands?
Need a break from pork pie hats and finger clicking? We’ve got you covered! The Mutton Lane Inn – one of the cities finest and oldest hostelries is your perfect sanctuary all weekend long – enjoy some of the finest stout in the city in the sultry candle lit surrounds, catch up with friends and bump into some new ones! Monday morning (7am) the Mutton Lane will open it’s doors for the annual Cork Heritage Jazz Trail wrap party so if you’ve got the stamina (or a loud alarm clock) be sure to join us as DJ Lisa Oh will be rocking out all morning with one of the wildest parties of the weekend!
The Oval will once again play host to a laid back weekend of music with some of Cork’s finest selectors! DJs Ché – K, Ian Richards & Fadd Jnr will be taking up residence over the weekend as we set up the decks in the snug!

Arthur Mayne’s Pharmacy & Wine bar on Pembroke Street or De Calf Café in the Cornmarket centre have just the medicine to get you started! Breakfast in De Calf Starts at 9am on Saturday (10am Sunday & Monday) and Arthur Mayne’s serves from 10am Saturday & Sunday (11am Monday) both offering breakfast/brunch favourites in a relaxed atmosphere.
Brunch/Lunch – The Old Town Whiskey Bar at Bodega – catch a show while you grab a bite in Ireland’s Largest Whiskey Bar! James and the crew in the kitchen serve award winning food 7 days a week and will have a very special Jazz menu on offer with some of the biggest shows of the festival! feeling a bit indulgent? why not treat yourself to a brunch cocktail?
Light bites throughout the day – if it’s casual grub you’re after why not head to Rising Sons Brewery for one of their delicious made-by-hand pizzas? Rising Sons also have an extensive menu of burritos and bar bites – perfect for sharing amongst friends, best washed down with a pint of award winning local beer!
Dinner – Lets taco ’bout it! The Old Town Taqueria at BDSM is the perfect spot to fill up on delicious dinner time goodies! Tacos, Nachos & Quesadillas washed down with delicious hand made cocktails – a match made in heaven

By the time Monday rolls around it’s been a long few days of dancing, finger snapping, maybe even the odd drink or 3! Well we’ve got that covered too, we’ll wrap you and your wallet in a warm blanket of goodness to get you through the Bank Holiday Monday! if you’re up to it the 3rd annual Cork Heritage Jazz Trail wrap party kicks off at 7am in the Mutton lane – DJ Lisa Oh will be spinning some fabulous tunes, come join all your favourite staff & friends in raising a glass to yet another Jazz festival!
If you’re not an early riser – start things off nice and easy with some mellow music at the Crane Lane Theatre’s all star jazz improv – by Monday afternoon it’s mostly the real music lovers are still out for some tasty jazz and the Jazz Improv brings together some of the best musicians from the whole festival for a farewell jam!
Arthur Mayne’s & The Old Town Whiskey Bar will be serving a full menu from 11am including cocktails so if you’re not ready to say goodbye to the weekend just yet do join us!
The Old Town Taqueria at BDSM opens from 3pm with their wonderful midweek deals – enjoy 3 tacos and a pint for €12 or a quesadilla & pint/cocktail of the week for €10
Rising Sons will be serving their famous pizza & pint for €12 or a burrito and a pint for €13.50 all day & night Monday also
