For the first time in almost 3 years St. Patrick’s Day will truly be back with live music, sport, award winning Cork beers and mountains of craic across all of our Cork Heritage Pub venues. With something for everybody and anybody, it’s going to be one for the history books! All events are free.
The Old Town Whiskey Bar at Bodega will boast one of the finest line-ups of entertainment in the city in one of Ireland’s most beautiful venues! We’ll be kicking off on the 16th of March with an evening set from the wonderful Quangodelic at 9pm to get you in the mood for some funky fun.
Then on Paddy’s Day itself we’ll be getting the ball rolling from 2pm with acclaimed rock and roll outfit The Tan Jackets set to get you rockin into the long weekend. We’ll also have face painting for the young ones from 2pm-4pm! Souldriven will be up next on the big stage from 5pm with a mixture of soul, funk, jazz and blues to get you movin groovy!
On Friday the 18th then we’ll have a late set starting at 9pm from Skazz, who started out as a swing and jazz outfit, a delightfully unique band specialising in ska!
Saturday will see the final showdown of Ireland’s Six Nations rugby campaign versus our Scottish friends on our indoor and outdoor screens. Did we mention The Old Town Whiskey Bar has one of Cork’s finest heated outdoor seating areas?! We’ll also have DJs till late every night and free entry to all events. The Old Town Whiskey Bar at Bodega boasts an incredibly wide range of offerings including gourmet dishes, craft cocktails, Cork made beers and simple bites, you won’t be departing us disappointed!
Crane Lane Theatre has a jam-packed line-up from the 16th to 20th with Skazz kicking things off on Wednesday at 9pm followed by DJ Roscoe on the decks from 11:30pm. On Paddy’s Day itself we’ve got a buffet of Cork’s finest bands and DJs from 2pm until close. On Friday evening we’ll have Fiesta Latina bringing some Latin vibes onto the big stage at 9pm, followed by DJ Val until close.
Then on Saturday from 9pm we’ll have Dirty Sexy Money, a must see electrifying live performance filled with colourful character and soulful energy. They’ll be followed by DJ Che-K until close. Sunday will see the capping off of what we hope will be a glorious weekend with Cian Finn on stage from 9pm, a highly gifted and renowned Irish singer and guitarist.
You can grab a bite to eat from the adjoining Artur Mayne’s or visit Upstairs, their late-night cocktail bar filled with ambiance alongside some gorgeous craft concoctions while you’re with us!
A crafty Paddy’s weekend
There’s no better place to get a better taste of Cork and the tradition of Irish micro-brewing than in Rising Sons Brewery on Cornmarket Street this St. Patrick’s Day week. Located in Cork’s old town, Rising Sons is the heart of the craft beer revolution in Cork City, having won over 21 gold medals at the World Beer Awards in recent years. All of the Cork Heritage Pubs stock locally brewed Rising Sons beers.
For St. Patrick’s Day, the brewery has a bumper week of sport, music, food and beers lined up for you! We’ll have every minute of the week’s sporting events on the big screen! We’ll also have James Brown and The New Ventures joining us in the lobby on Paddy’s Day and the Friday. Try out some of our delicious fresh food from the kitchen, including calzones, Italian pizzas and cheesy nachos.
Sin É, located on Coburg Street is a cultural marvel and one of Ireland’s finest traditional pubs. It is one of the few venues in the city with daily traditional Irish music sessions. It’s a fine spot and perhaps the best place to get a taste of Ireland’s rich musical tradition, and perhaps a pint of Mi Daza traditional stout. It’s a venue much coveted on St. Patricks day so make sure you get in relatively early to enjoy the festivities in traditional style!
Sin É will have trad sessions all week from 6:30pm, while on St Patrick’s day we’ll have three. The first goes from 3:30pm – 5pm, followed by the second at 6:30pm – 8:30pm and then polished off with a whopping sesh from 9pm til late, it’ll truly be a cracking atmosphere!
Feel like dancing?
Do you often get the urge to get groovy after a day of festivities?! The Vicarstown Bar has you covered this St Patrick’s week with music until late Wednesday to Saturday! The Vicarstown is also the perfect spot for some delicious cocktails and a couple of tacos to spice up your day!
The Vicarstown kicks off the week on Wednesday with Big Daddy Can on the decks from 11pm until late. Then for Patrick’s Day itself we’ve got DJ Jonezy up from 3pm followed by DJs Big Daddy Can, Jusme and Rostah from 7pm until close. Friday will see Dim The Lights from 7pm followed by DJ Boss Hogg at 11pm. DJ Big Daddy Can will seal off the weekend from 11pm then on Saturday night! There’s plenty to look forward and a diverse range of gigs for everyone!
The Poor Relation is a pub filled to the brim with character and represents a slice of Cork City’s history! Right next to the start of the parade route and city hall, it’s an ideal venue to sip away your day in this Paddy’s week while you catch some of our fantastic acts! We’ll also be serving our famous, delicious toasties.
Live music Wednesday to Saturday, starting off with Mossie The Band playing an open jam session on Wednesday the 16th from 9pm! Then on the big day itself Hecklin Dog will take to the stage at 2pm followed by The Dagenham Yanks from 5pm on the stage! On Friday Brian Hennessy will be up from 10pm. To cap it off on Saturday we’ll have Ricky & Graham Lynch from 10pm.
How about a cosy break from the madness?
Mutton Lane is one of Cork’s true traditional Irish Pubs, brimming full of history, character and life. Here we’re a big believer in conversation, hence no big screens! It’s situated right next to the parade route on St. Patrick’s Street which makes it the perfect spot to sip a pint of Mi Daza stout while trying to catch a glimpse of all the parade’s curiosities! There’s also the mural, a delightful piece of artwork in our alley which will keep you mesmerised, the more you look, the more you will see! We have a whole selection of Cork brewed craft beers which will enlighten your senses. There’s no better place to get the authentic Irish pub experience.
The Oval Bar is a gorgeous venue at the heart of Cork’s brewing heritage, located across from the old Beamish and Crawford counting house, The Oval is full of character and old tales! Grab yourself a snug and settle in for the day in one of Cork’s comfiest venues.
Breakfast – Arthur Mayne’s/De Calf Café – starting your day off early and want to make sure the most important meal of the day is a good one? Arthur Mayne’s Pharmacy & Wine bar on Pembroke Street or De Calf Café in the Cornmarket centre have just the medicine to get you started! Breakfast in De Calf Starts at 9am on Saturday (10am Sunday & Monday) and Arthur Mayne’s serves from 10am Saturday & Sunday (11am Monday) both offering breakfast/brunch favourites in a relaxed atmosphere.
Brunch/Lunch – The Old Town Whiskey Bar at Bodega – catch a gig while you grab a bite in Ireland’s Largest Whiskey Bar! James and the crew in the kitchen serve a diverse range of award winning food 7 days a week. Feeling a bit indulgent? why not treat yourself to a brunch cocktail?
Light bites throughout the day – If it’s casual grub you’re after why not head to Rising Sons Brewery for one of their delicious made-by-hand pizzas? Rising Sons also have an extensive menu of nachos, calzones and much more – perfect for sharing amongst friends, best washed down with a pint of award winning local beer!

The Old Town Whiskey Bar is the best spot for the kids on the big day with our spacious heated outdoor area in front of the big stage! There’ll be street food aplenty alongside our own delicious menu, on St Patrick’s day itself we’ll be doing face painting from 2-4pm alongside our balloon artist to keep the kids happy!!
