Complex Wines For Contemplation

Chateau Fontareche Corbieres 1682 (France)

The date refers to the year the Lamy family began producing wine. Made from vines of more than 40 years of age, this is a blend of Syrah, Mourvedre, Carignan and Grenache, typical of this region of southern France. It is aged in oak barrels that impart delicate, complex aromas of cedar wood and spice. Supple, rich and complex.

Valpolicella Ripasso, Santa Sofia, Veneto

This wine is a Valpolicella, too, but made altogether differently. Once the great Amarone is made, the Ripasso grapes are fermented on its skins, adding richness and power. It is then aged in Slovenian barrels. It’s rich, intense and delicious.
