Beer Garden Sunshine and Stars at Cork Heritage Pubs

Beer Garden Sunshine and Stars at Cork Heritage Pubs

There’s some fine weather expected this month to finish off a wonderful summer, we’ve got a few recommendations on where to spend those sunny days and nights in Cork City! The stars of Westlife also arrive in town on Friday the 12th and Saturday the 13th of August to coincide with the gorgeous weather.

The Black Dog and Vicarstown Bar

The adjoining Black Dog and Vicarstown Bar on North Main Street are perfect spots to spend these sunny days, both have their own special appeal. The Vicarstown boasts one of the finest beer gardens in the city contained within its medieval walls, with delicious cocktails available from inside. Open until late Thursday, Friday and Saturday with some of Cork’s best DJs!

The new and improved Black Dog has a beer garden adjoining that of The Vicarstown, a perfect combo to enjoy the last of the long evenings while nibbling away at some of the finest Tacos on this side of the Atlantic from The Old Town Taqueria! Have you spotted the sign out the back which speaks an eternal truth?! If it gets a bit chilly late at night you can always pop inside to Cork’s only late night rock and metal bar.

The Old Town Whiskey Bar at Bodega

Bodega has some of the largest street side seating in Cork City, it’s an amazing spot to catch some rays while also enjoying some of the best cocktails and bites around. If you’re really enjoying the sun, we’ve got Fiesta Latina on Friday and Saturday nights until late, you’ll be transported into a new place of latin hits on warm summer nights.

Rising Sons Brewery

Rising Sons is an institution of CorkCity, located on the sunny side of Cornmarket Street, supplying some of the finest craft beers around, the seasonal specials compliment the sunny surrounds. We recommend the Raspberry Sour to keep you cool this summer, if you’re feeling peckish you can enjoy it with some of the tastiest pizzas, calzones and nachos in Cork. We’ve also got all the Premier League action on the big screen as a new season gets underway.

Crane Lane and Arthur Mayne’s

During the day Crane Lane is one of the best spots for a sunny lunch and an afternoon drink if you so desire. Arthur Mayne’s also has a small outdoor section facing onto Pembroke Street if you fancy some people watching while enjoying some of the finest gourmet plates in the city. At night Crane Lane comes alive with some of the best DJs and bands in Ireland performing on the main stage, it gets busy so make sure to arrive early to avoid disappointment!

Escape From the Sun

Sometimes it can get a little too hot or you’re just not a fan of the sun, so you can catch some shade and a lovely local pint!

The Mutton Lane Inn

Mutton Lane makes for one of the best spots in the city for a cool outdoor pint on a hot day, with plenty of shade and bundles of city character, you can gaze upon our mural for hours as you uncover the hidden stories present within. A cold pint down the lane next to The English Market really is a fine Cork City tradition.

The Oval

The Oval is the best of both worlds on South Main Street, with our outdoor seating and indoor tradition, it is the quintessential Irish public house with pints of stout to die for. It’s the perfect place to cool off and experience a unique slice of Cork City’s heritage across from the old Beamish and Crawford brewery. Have a peak out our unique ceiling when you’re inside,
