With an incredible line-up of live music and gigs happening throughout the month, and major concerts around Cork, be sure to pop in for a well-deserved pint (or two!) afterwards and soak up the Rebel City’s legendary atmosphere.


What to Expect in Cork Heritage Pubs: Live Music & Entertainment

There’s so much to expect this June in Cork Heritage Pubs, and of course, there’s live music – it’s literally the epitome of what we do. Let us take you on a tour, or simply check out the Cork Heritage Pubs map here.

El Fenix has fantastic folk & trad sessions two nights a week. Make your way across the street and head into Poor Relation, boasting an incredible four nights of music a week. The Poor Relation is a versatile live music venue offering everything from folk to trad to rock ‘n’ roll, showcasing amazing local Cork talents. You’ll find gems there all weekend!

Canty’s Bar on Pembroke Street is a non-stop entertainment hub. The TVs are switched on at 12 PM and not turned off until close – you’ll never miss the match at Canty’s Bar. Canty’s also boasts an array of local talents four nights a week with double acts on Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays. What’s more? All these gigs are 100% FREE OF CHARGE!

Have you heard of the infamous Crane Lane Theatre? Check out Virgin Media’s The Secret Headliner (click here for more information) to see what this iconic Cork venue is all about. This Cork institution is a vibrant live music spot, housed in a former gentlemen’s club, offering jazz, blues, burlesque, and everything in between, seven nights a week. You don’t want to miss this place if you happen to be in Cork City.

You can catch live music, shows, or movies in The Pavilion on Carey’s Lane or check out a DJ set down in Intermission Lounge – there are bars & nightclubs in the city, but only one lounge quite like this. The Old Town Whiskey Bar at Bodega is the premier Latin party in the city with Fiesta Latina featuring DJ Wilros & DJ Mystic Gold three nights a week. Less than 45 meters away, you have Rising Sons Brewery with their Rising Sons Afterdark all weekend long – dance the night away with good beers and good friends.

Over on North Main Street, you have The Vicarstown & The Black Dog, two powerhouses on the Cork DJ scene. These guys really know how to groove. The Park on Tuckey Street also has DJ sets all weekend long. If you find yourself in Barracks Square in Ballincollig, you’ll find exciting breakthrough local performers three nights a week singing their hearts out only in Artys Bar. Head up towards Coburg Street and witness the legendary Sin É, which hosts Cork’s longest-running trad session – two sessions a day, seven nights a week!


Cork Beer Gardens & Pre-Concert Pints

It’s finally Summer, and that means beer gardens in Cork! We have some of the best in the city, many of those mentioned above (CHECK OUT THE MAP HERE). El Fenix & The Poor Relation are your go-to pre-drinks spots for concerts in The Marquee, Páirc Uí Chaoimh & Virgin Media Park. You can also check out the newly improved outdoor spaces in The Oval & The Park. Enjoy beers in the sun in any of the pubs on Pembroke Street or catch the rays on Cornmarket Street. Looking for the cool beer garden for a night-time session? The Vicarstown is your best friend. Don’t forget about Mutton Lane-Tucked away down a historic alley beside the English Market, Mutton Lane Inn is one of Cork City’s most beloved and atmospheric pubs. With its dark, candlelit interior and lack of TVs, it’s the perfect spot for conversation and a perfectly poured pint, offering a truly authentic Cork pub experience.

We have an array of options for night-time diners. All the above are perfect for dinner, but do make sure to pop into Rising Sons Brewery to avail of their Pizza & Pint Deal (Just €17 for a 10-inch hand-crafted Italian-style pizza) – our pizza, our beers, our recipes! The Black Dog has the best tacos & nachos Cork City has to offer, with flavors that will literally blow your mind. Old Brennan’s offers a unique dining experience where every dish is thoughtfully crafted to complement their carefully curated wine selection.
